Storage of custom locations for earthquake notifications

When you choose to get a custom earthquake alert based on a location you search on in the app, the location is forwarded with transport-layer security to my private server. If you are concerned about your privacy, do not enter a complete address with house number. Instead, choose a nearby landmark, or uninhabited area by dragging the pin once the search is complete, but before you hit the checkmark button to confirm. The concept of "current location", such as GPS or Wi-Fi-based positioning, is not available in this app.

The locations you enter are used solely to calculate and deliver earthquake alerts and are never accessed for any other reason. Your locations are stored on the server in latitude,longitude form. No search phrase you enter is ever sent to my server, it is only sent to Apple for geocoding, or, in the case of search filtering in other parts of the app, is done local to the device.

Your custom locations are deleted from the system when either:

• you delete the custom alert from the app by swiping it to the left, then tapping Delete: In which case, the deletion is instant.
• you delete the app, without sliding each of your custom alerts away for deletion: In which case, the deletion will occur at some point in the future. The Apple Push Notification Service will notice your token as being inactive due to app deletion, and provide feedback to me to queue it for deletion.

Customer Support Requests

Any data generated through the email-based customer support system in David Gross' apps or websites can be stored indefinitely by David Gross for the sole purpose of improving product quality. User-generated customer support requests are not shared with any third-party in any manner.

David Gross uses HTTPS throughout his apps and websites.

Data Collection

Like most Web servers on the Internet, David Gross' servers collect and store within Web access logs all of the information that your Web browser sends when it requests a Web page, including:

• the name, domain, and numerical internet address of the host computer (typically a computer belonging to your Internet Service Provider and not your personal computer) from which you access the Internet
• the date and time you accessed the site
• the Internet address of the Web page that you came from
• the page you requested from the site and the number of characters sent to your computer and
• the information your Web browser software sends as its so-called 'User Agent', which typically identifies the browser software and may also indicate the operating system used in your personal computer and the type of computer.

Data Sharing

David Gross' servers do not share any of the data collected within Web access logs or any other interaction with any third party

Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA)

David Gross only allows users age 13+ to use his services.
